Fort Worth Police Department Strategic Plan

#4 Ranked Unfunded Project: Consolidate North Patrol Division Facilities There are two North Patrol Division facilities that house patrol and administrative functions, the first is located at 2500 N. Houston Street and the second at 4651 N. Main Street. The 2500 N. Houston facility, built in 1950, is city- owned with approximately 7,507 sq. ft. on a 2.59-acre lot, housing approximately ~26 personnel. This was previously the former Mounted Unit facility, which relocated in 2014 to a new equestrian center near Lake Worth.

The leased North Patrol Division facility at 4651 N. Main at Meacham International Airport is approximately 12,675 sq. ft. and houses ~150 personnel. The monthly building lease cost is $10,351.25, with an additional $3,168.63 monthly ground lease totaling $13,519.88. This facility is no longer suitable for the Police Department under the existing and proposed future terms. The FWPD will require an alternative, more economically feasible solution, to replace this facility. The Police Department is considering the possibility of redeveloping 2500 N. Houston and consolidating the two

existing facilities into one city-owned facility. This project would require the demolition of 2500 N. Houston, and a new facility erected. After a preliminary analysis of the site, the construction of a two-story facility with sufficient space for 200 surface parking spaces appears feasible. The FWPD will request funding for this facility project in the 2018 Bond Program.
