RUN 4 ELISE Spreading Safety and Knowledge

Recently, Premier Rehab PT was involved in a 5K run that supported a local cause. By participating in the event, we helped shed light on the importance of water safety and provided information to our community about who we are and what we do. The foundation and run, named Run4Elise, was founded to spread awareness about water safety and drowning. Elise was a 13-year-old who loved swimming, and she competed fiercely and fervently in the sport. In 2016, she drowned during warm-ups at her swimming club practice, devastating her parents, her team, coaches, and anyone who was close to her. Yet her passion lives on. Elise’s drive and love for swimming, her positive attitude, and her hardworking nature motivated many people both in and outside of her swim team. To spread her love for the sport and the importance of pool safety, her parents created the Swim4Elise Foundation. The first race, held in 2017, including the 5K and mile run, raised over $50,000.

At Premier Rehab, we’re proud to have volunteered for and sponsored this organization that strives to create a better and safer environment for all. Angela Leslie, Brad Stuckey, Lori Day, Michael Teague, David Benson, and Linda Downs were the staff members who braved the cold weather and made sure to answer any questions that were asked at the table we ran. They gave attendees tips on stretching both before and after the race and gave out information regarding special programs we offer through our clinic. When we at Premier Rehab PT get involved in our community, we do it full-force. We spread safety awareness and provide high-quality physical therapy guidance.
