Role purpose

The Sustainability Manager (Operations) reports to the Director of Sustainability and is a key member of the sustainability team. The post holder will work closely with colleagues across Estates and Facilities and the wider university in order to deliver the sustainability objectives as part of the Service strategy and overall King’s Strategic Vision 2029. As part of the sustainability team the role holder shares responsibility for championing sustainability and supporting the university to embed sustainability across its operations, research and education activities. The role involves providing expert advice, developing and implementing policies and procedures and promoting and co-ordinating sustainability projects. The role holder will be required to deputise for the Director of Sustainability and will take the lead in agreed areas to support operational implementation of the Sustainability Strategy which includes the environmental management system. This post requires a highly motivated and collaborative person who is not only able to deliver continuous improvement in operational sustainability within Estates and Facilities but is also able to bring the wider university community together to drive and achieve the wider sustainability objectives.
