L. B. m m CAN GOD BLESS THE CHURCH? To the Editor of The King’s Business, Los Angeles. Dear Sir:— I have noticed from time to time in the K. B. a call to prayer for a revival, also the clarion call sent out by the Great Commission Prayer League to pray for a nation-wide revival, telling how the great revival of 1857 began. It_ refers to “ The union of Christians engaged so intensely in intercessory prayer” and “ through this a love for souls sprang up. Sinners felt it was awful to trifle in the house of prayer.” How different the conditions and the at titude of men and women today. Christians of today have no concep tion of sin. Look at our mothers and sisters, how they dress. If a girl or a woman had dressed in 1857 like our sisters dress today, they would have been put in jail for indecent exposure. I ask you, dear brother, how in the name of Jesus can God answer prayer and send a revival when there are such low conceptions of sin in the church?

The jailor was to believe on Jesus: he whs a sinner; he needed the Saviour — Jesus— to save him from his sins, and Whom he should love. But more: he needed Him as his “ Lord,” his Master, Whom he had to serve and Whom he had to obey in all the details of every day life. He had also to believe on Him as “ the Christ,” the Anointed of God, “ God manifest in the flesh,” Whom he would have to worship and adore. It is only as we accept Christ in all His Divine attributes that we shall be able to live “ the Victorious Life.” He is our Jehovah-Jesus, our Prophet, Priest, and King. May we ever ascribe all honor due unto His Holy Name. ■S!£. .$!&. WHAT MANNER OF MAN IS THIS? Out. of the writer’s meditations, on a recent Sunday afternoon, the follow ing questions concerning our Lord came to mind. Let the reader honestly an swer them, and he will be compelled to ask, “ What manner of man is this?” With Thomas he must then say, "My Lord and my God.” 1. On what occasion did Jesus ever have to correct Himself? 2. When did Jesus almost cure a man? 3. When did Jesus give a “ treat ment” to a patient? 4. When did one whom Jesus had dealt with say, "He helped me some” ? 5. When did Jesus attend a funeral without breaking it up? 6. When did Jesus arrive too late to be of any service? 7. When did Jesus ever forget an important engagement? 8. Did Jesus ever have to say, “ I beg your pardon” ? 9. When did Jesus come near los ing control of Himself?
