Champlain appuie le CTTP
Le conseil du canton de Champlain a appuyé dernièrement le Syndicat des travailleurs et travailleuses des postes (STTP), qui proteste contre des coupes possibles dans les services par Postes Canada. Lors d’une rencontre récente, le conseil a adopté une sug- gestion du conseiller Normand Riopel de soutenir deux résolutions du STTP, qui demande que Postes Canada obtienne de nouvelles sources de revenus et améliore la nouvelle charte des services post- aux. Alors que le conseiller Pierre Perreault croit que le dossier ne concerne pas la municipalité, M. Riopel affirme qu’il est important que les conseillers soulignent leur appui aux bureaux de poste ru- raux. «C’est possible que Postes Canada ferme les bureaux de poste dans les petits villages. Il faut qu’on garde nos emplois et nos gens», a lancé M. Riopel.

Light up the night Everyone attending the December 6 Santa Claus parade in Vankleek Hill is asked to bring a source of illumination to add to the festival glow of the gather- ing. Organizers are encouraging people to bring glow sticks, lanterns, flashlights, any- thing that produces light to the event that begins at 7 p.m. at the high school. After meandering through residential streets, Santa and his sleigh will land on Main Street, in front of the giant Christmas tree, beside the post office. V.C.I. students don- ning elf hats will be part of The Elf Brigade distributing bags of Christmas candy.
