The OFLSC has a mandate to conduct independent investigations under the French Language Services Act, either in response to complaints or on his own initiative, to prepare reports on his investigations, and to monitor the progress made by government agencies in the delivery of French-language services in Ontario. The OFLSC reports directly to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. He advises parliamentarians and makes recommendations to them with respect to the application of the Act. In the context of the rapid expansion of the OFLSC, the Office is actively seeking to fulfill the following positions which require superior verbal and written communication skills in both English and French:
Le Commissariat est chargé de mener des enquêtes indépendantes selon la Loi sur les services en français, par suite de plaintes ou de sa propre initiative, de préparer des rapports sur les enquêtes et de surveiller les progrès accomplis par les organismes gouvernementaux en ce qui concerne la prestation des services en français en Ontario. Le commissaire relève directement de l’Assemblée législative de l’Ontario. À ce titre, il conseille les parlementaires et leur propose des recommandations liées à l’application de la Loi.
