If you are a long time New Yorker you can experience your past at the New York Transit Museum. On display are subway cars and memorabilia that will instantly transport you back in time. You can date yourself and instantly be transported to a younger you. It is a powerful and enjoyable experience.
All of us are immigrants to the United States. Many of us can trace our ancestor’s right here to New York City. Coming from across the seas, entering New York harbor through Ellis Island and landing on Manhattan’s Lower East Side the museum shows what living was like in the late 1800’s in this area of New York City.
If you are into clothes here is a museum that showcases designer clothes. Fashion Institute of Technology has been part of the New York City garment trade for decades. At one time NYC produced more than 90% of the garments worn in the United States. The museum provides a glimpse into the past and what is currently fashionable.
