Starting a New Year

In the December edition, we talked about what an exciting year 2018 was for us. We couldn’t be more grateful to serve a community of people like you! We were lucky to add knowledgeable and skilled physical therapists to our team, like our newest PT, Courtney, who brings a passion for her field that she shares with every patient she encounters. 2019 is here! Can you believe it? We look forward to building on the momentum generated last year. 2019 is going to be a year of changes to how we deliver our services, along with a renewed dedication to improving their quality. Our practice is all about getting you back to the activities you love. That’s what drives us to get better every day. We are dedicated to continual improvement and plan on doing whatever is necessary to make sure we offer the

best possible service. We continually ask ourselves, “How can we better serve our patients?” One way we’re doing just that is by expanding our continuing education program so each person on our team can develop their skills. By being well-versed in the newest techniques and approaches to physical therapy, we’ll keep our commitment to offer the most advanced care available. customer experience. We want each visit to Elite PT to be as effective, efficient, and easy as possible. This year, we look forward to getting feedback from patients on our services. We want to identify our strengths and weaknesses as a practice so we can improve the Elite PT patient experience. No matter how well you do something, there’s always room for improvement. We also have plans to look closely at what we can do to enhance our

Some of the changes we plan to implement will make coming to PT easier for you. These include

streamlining our scheduling process; increasing our marketing activities to bring physical therapy to more people in our community; and enhancing our newsletter content to bring you the information you want to know. We also aspire to improve our communication with everyone we work with. At Elite PT, we are committed to our patients. They are our No. 1 priority. What changes year to year is how we can add to and modify our services to better the patient experience. If you have any feedback for us as we start the new year, please let us know. We love hearing from you. I look forward to making this a great one together. Happy New Year! –Bart Jones & Don Cassano

“I had a right knee replacement that brought me to Elite Physical Therapy. I had trouble walking, bending the knee, and standing. After several weeks of therapy, I could feel the changes, and my quality of life improved tremendously. A special thanks to Bart Jones and his staff for a job well- done and also a special thanks to Carol, Jessica, and Kelsey. I would recommend Elite to my friends. Should my family or I need therapy, I would definitely come back to Elite PT. Also, the coffee was great!“ ––––– –Eli Price

Be Your Own Best Advocate Physical Therapy Coverage in 2019 “What am I going to pay for physical therapy in 2019?” This is a question on many of our patients’ minds. New government decisions will affect us in a few ways, and one of them involves health insurance. With the long- awaited repeal of the therapy cap, there are some changes to physical therapy that may impact you — in some cases, for the better. Know what your insurance covers and doesn’t cover, particularly if your deductible starts over at the beginning of the year. You might know your current insurance guidelines, but if there are any changes, you should find out about them before you’re surprised by a bill. Here are some ways to find out about your health care coverage in the new year. KNOW YOUR DEDUCTIBLE AND COPAY Unfortunately, deductibles are all too common and often very high. Be prepared by making a plan to pay your deductible if you receive any health care services at the beginning of the year. Communicate with your provider to find out if you should expect increases in your expenses. Also be aware of copays and co-insurance costs. ASK YOUR PROVIDER, ‘WHAT AM I GOING TO OWE?’ You have the right to ask your insurance provider this question. Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself and find out the details so you can know what to expect.

ASK US FOR HELP Our staff is here to provide the best in physical therapy services and help you through some of the more challenging parts of health care. We can answer your questions and point you toward resources. CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND SENATORS You have a say in your health care. Congress is still debating many important decisions regarding your health care. You have an opportunity to speak up. Call your congressional representatives to make your voice heard. You can also ask us at Elite PT for updates.

We’re here for your health, and we want you to be your best self in 2019. Ask us about your health insurance, and be your own best advocate this year.

3 of the World’s Greatest Winter Sport Destinations Who’s Ready for Some Powder?

WHISTLER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA A destination that looks like a cross between a Nordic paradise and Olympic-level runs, Whistler is filled with true magic, winter activities, and a town that captivates the senses. When you see the mountains of British Columbia, you’ll understand why they hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics. The location’s beauty is only part of your stimulating experience, because every curve of fresh powder makes your pupils dilate. Once you’re done flying down the hill where Bode Miller took the bronze, head over to the winter wonderland of the old Olympic Village for a cozy night in a picturesque town.

ST. ANTON, AUSTRIA If you want a great location for next year’s Christmas card photo, there’s no better place than the Tyrolean Alps. Nestled in a valley between perfectly molded mountains, the Austrian landscape provides a beautiful backdrop for your winter excursions. The densely wooded areas and the bright reflection of the snow frame the vibrant town that’s just waiting to be explored. When you’re ready for world-class runs, hop in one of the 11 gondolas and zip down the hills that hosted the 2001 Alpine World Ski Championships.

The sound of the first carve through fresh powder is the anthem of all winter sports enthusiasts. Here are three of the world’s best places to experience that powder you’ve been craving all year. BRECKENRIDGE, COLORADO John Denver’s anthem “Rocky Mountain high” is about the freedom he felt here. Where there are great mountains, there’s even better snow. The ski resort boasts five peaks, 187 trails, 34 lifts, four terrain parks, and a renowned cross-country trail. After a day on the slopes, head into the town of Breckenridge for dining and activities that ditch the glitz and glamour of Vail or Aspen and take you straight to the heart of fun.
