Quality: SN EN ISO 9001
Environment: SN EN ISO 14 001 The internationally recognized standard SN EN ISO 14 001 defines the requirements for an effective environmental management system. It covers all environmentally relevant processes within a company. The standard obliges management and employees to act in an environmen- tally responsible manner, comply with legal requirements, and continuously optimize processes. Its goal is to reduce environmental impact, use resources efficiently, and sustainably minimize emissions. Automotive: IATF 16 949 The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) is an association of auto- motive manufacturers and industry groups that defines quality require- ments for the automotive sector. The IATF 16 949 standard is an internatio- nal quality management standard for the automotive supply chain, based on ISO 9001, and outlines the requi- rements for manufacturing products for the automotive market. At maxon, implementation takes place as part of customer‑specific projects.
Aerospace: EN 9100
The quality management stan- dard ISO 9001 defines quality as the degree to which given require- ments are fulfilled. It establishes the requirements for a quality man- agement system that an organiza- tion needs to comply with in order to provide products and services that meet customer expectations as well as regulatory requirements. Among these requirements is the need for the management system to undergo a continuous improvement process.
Since 2012, maxon has been certi- fied according to EN 9100. This stan- dard is specifically designed for companies that develop and pro- duce components for the aerospace industry. It defines specific require- ments for design, development, pro- duction, and maintenance to ensure the highest product quality, safety, and reliability. At maxon, it is applied to customer‑specific products with the exception of A‑max motors and controllers.
Medical devices: SN EN ISO 13 485
Information security: ISO/IEC 27 001 ISO/IEC 27 001 is the globally recog- nized standard that defines the requi- rements for establishing, operating, and improving an information secu- rity management system (ISMS). The goal of an ISMS is to manage risks to the confidentiality, integrity, and avai- lability of information assets in align- ment with an organization’s objec- tives. ISO 27 001 includes a set of best‑practice controls designed to mitigate risks associated with sensi- tive information.
The international quality standard for medical devices confirms that maxon medical meets the require- ments of medical technology to mini- mize potential risks for patients. All processes and procedures are docu- mented, ensuring full traceability. At maxon, this standard is applied upon request for customer‑speci- fic products manufactured at the company’s sites in Switzerland and Germany.
