Frameless BLDC Motors Technology – short and to the point
With our frameless motor kits, the rotor and stator are delivered separate without bearings or motor shaft. The compact, finished motor is created by assembling both components and integrating the result into the application. Frameless motors are usually used as direct drives.

Frameless BLDC Motors Properties – Brushless DC Motor (BLDC) as direct drive – Long service life – High torque thanks to multipole motor design with NdFeB permanent magnets – Stationary winding with iron core and multiple teeth per phase – Slight cogging torque – Gradients that deviate from strictly linear behavior – Good heat dissipation and high overload capacity – Temperature monitoring sensor (NTC hot conductor) – Flat design for compact integration into the application – Hollow shaft for routing cables, vacuum, light, etc. Integration and service life The frameless motors are direct drives that are integrated into the application. The assembly instructions available on the maxon website provide detailed specifications for optimal installation. The service life is primarily determined by the selected bearing arrangement and the operating conditions (bearing load, speed).
EC frameless DT Properties of the maxon EC frameless Dynamic Torque (DT) range: – Highly dynamic due to the internal multipole rotor made up of individual NdFeB magnet segments – Mechanical time constant below one millisecond – High torque density – Speeds of up to 5000 rpm – Optional TSX MAG encoder with additional commutation signals – Range of diameters: 38 mm – 85 mm, with two overall lengths each – Standard flange for easy installation – Versions without flange TSX MAG encoder The optional TSX MAG encoder module can be combined with the EC frameless DT motor. The rotor is supplemented with an additional magnetic target ring. The TSX MAG module is mounted on the stator without affecting the rotor’s hollow shaft. It is also programmed to output correct commutation signals. For this, the rotor and stator must be delivered as a pair.
EC frameless HT Properties of the maxon EC frameless High Torque (HT) range: – Cost-effective alternative to the EC frameless DT – Range of diameters: 60–90 mm – Large hollow shaft
