EMJ 2015 Year in Review

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY In August, members of the CORE Safety team participated in the Chattanooga MudRun 5K benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga. This was CORE’s sixth year in a row to participate in the event. Accent Construction also participated in the MudRun, and Signal Energy had three teams run in the race. The military-style obstacle course race benefits low-income members of the community by raising money to build affordable housing. The Dallas office has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to “build a better Dallas” for the past three years. From donating goods and financial aid to building affordable homes for locals, the team has made giving a priority. TEAM BUILDING In March, RedStone Construction hosted a crawfish boil with their joint venture partner on River Spirit Casino, Manhattan Construction. The family-fun event reinforced the partnership between the two organizations while building strong relationships between employees and their colleagues. As Dallas’ numbers grew during 2015, the office hosted a company picnic as a team-building event. It was a fun afternoon of food, games, healthy competition and fellowship. COMMUNITY KITCHEN In December, the Chattanooga office sponsored the Chattanooga Community Kitchen’s Christmas Party for the fourth year in a row. The office raised money as well as food and supplies from local restaurants and stores to produce an outstanding party for Chattanooga’s homeless population. SALVATION ARMY Last year, members of Signal Energy rang bells at Hamilton Place Mall to help the Salvation Army raise money for nutritious food and warm clothes for low-income families in the Chattanooga area.
