10. Maintaining and enhancing the external profile of the Service and the University.

11. Promoting effective co-operation and relationships with Faculties, Departments and other Services of the University, at all levels, including being a member of the University Management Team.

12. Monitoring developments in ‘best practice’ within the commercial and HE sectors and ensuring that these are incorporated, where appropriate, into University Facilities Management systems.

13. Overall responsibility for health and safety of the University’s estate generally, chairing the University’s Health, Safety & Environment Committee, as well as responsibility for the health and safety of Facilities Management staff and the immediate implementation of safe working practices in line with changes implemented.

14. Developing and maintaining the University’s Contingency Plan, ensuring that an emergency response capability is available, minimizing the level of risk to the Institution.

15. Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to and commensurate with the level of responsibility, as determined by the Vice Chancellor or nominated member of Senior Executive Team.
