Figure 41 The Skills Mission field layout
Overview In the Autonomous Flight Skills Mission drones are programmed by students to operate entirely autonomously. Each team competes alone to score as many points as possible in a 60-second match. Teams will be ranked based on the combined Autonomous Flight Skills Mission and Piloting Skills Mission score. The team with the top combined score will be the Skills Champion at that event. Teams will be given the opportunity to have 2 f ive m inutes s essions at the skills field to complete up to 3 a utonomous f light s kills r uns each session. The 5 minute timer begins once the drone is set down in the starting position.
Note: Autonomous Flight Skills Missions and Piloting Skills Missions use the same field layout. The c olor m ats are randomized each a utonomous f light skills match per rule <AM1>
