MANY ISLANDS PIPE LINES (CANADA) LIMITED EMERGENCY PROCEDURES MANUAL Response Team Duties

2.4 Response Team Duties

Always maintain a polite and helpful attitude toward team members, the public, government employees and others. As an Alert or Emergency unfolds, the demands on the response team members may significantly increase, particularly at the Incident Commander or Chief Levels. Response team members are empowered and encouraged to commission the help of one or more assistants to help them accomplish the demands on their role. If resources are not available within the company, consider involving consultants, contractors, or other temporary services. At a minimum, for any incident, an Incident Commander and an On-site Commander will be activated. These two positions will always be held by different people. Until other personnel are assigned, the Incident Commander will perform all duties of the Chiefs. On-site Commander is responsible for on-site activities.
