Municode Now Hosting Online Orange County Code of Ordinances

By: Orange County Communications Department

Since 2000, Orange County ’ s Code of Ordinances has been publicly viewable online. Online access makes it easy for a resident to view specific code sections of interest, and is a key component of transparency efforts. This service will continue, hosted again by Municode, effective May 1, 2022. This change came with the support of the County Attorney ’ s Office, which had been responsible for hosting the Code of Ordinances online since 2012, following a transfer from Municode. Like the previous online code, features of the Municode site include a table of contents and search options, as well as the capability to download individual sections, or the entire code, in PDF format. As the Board of Supervisors adopts new language and ordinances, improved functionality will allow prior versions of the code to be cross - referenced against current wording. Additionally, staff is currently building a history of older code editions, and working on making those documents available online in the future.
