Q: There are potholes on my road and VDOT says the County is responsible for the maintenance. A: The County does not maintain roads. If you reside in a neighborhood with an HOA, it may be helpful to reach out to their office. You may also want to review the language in your deed to determine if there is a road maintenance agreement.
Q: I ’ m new to the County. How do I determine who my district Supervisor is? A: One convenient way is to visit GIS on the County ’ s website. Click on the Layer List icon, click the dropdown box beside Orange County GIS, scroll down to Overlays and click the dropdown box, scroll down and click on the box beside Voting District. The districts will appear on the map. Click in the Enter Address box in the top left corner, type in your address, and click the magnifying glass. It will bring up your parcel. You may need to zoom out to see the district.

Janet Walker is a bright spot in the days of so many Orange County employees. While she has only been with the County for seven (7) months, she has made a significant impact during that time with her constant good cheer and kind words. She helps maintain several Orange County facilities, but primarily focuses on the Sedwick Building, which houses the Main Public Library Branch, the Social Services Department, the Extension Office, the Office on Youth, and Voter Registration. The staff in those offices are thrilled to have her.
Janet shares the sentiment; her favorite part of the job is “ getting to know all the folks in the buildings. ” She really enjoyed the holidays in the offices, especially Halloween. She was impressed by how much the offices decorated and dressed up, and even got in on the fun herself, dressing up as a “ hippy ” with her Public Works coworkers. When not keeping facilities in tip - top shape or spreading some joy to her fellow employees, Janet enjoys spending time with her kids, fishing, cheering on the Green Bay Packers, and watching scary movies. Her favorite horror flick is Annabelle Comes Home , and according to her it pairs best with some pepperoni pizza.
