Coffee
▪ I started a small cafe in the back room of a historic 1740 farmhouse in Charlestown Rhode Island in 1998. For several years, I purchased roasted coffees from roasters across the country. Then in 2009 a new chapter in the Dave’s Coffee began when I started roasting our own coffee. ▪ All Dave’s coffees are roasted weekly to order and shipped fresh. We’ve upgraded our equipment roasting on a twenty- five kilo, American made Diedrich infrared roaster, and now call our seven thousand square foot roastery in Narragansett Rhode Island home.

▪ We are a third-generation, family-owned and operated organization, rooted in the rich heritage and rugged charm of New England. The Downeast name was inspired by nautical journeys along the East Coast. ▪ Our founder, Mike Kapos, started it all in 1953 with the belief that coffee connects people — creating meaningful moments and strengthening communities. His son, Bill, and grandson, Mike, are now carrying on his belief and legacy in historic Pawtucket, RI, where the family still believes in the timeless art of handcrafting for friends, family, and neighbors.
