Tea, Coffee & Cocoa – Vermont
Sillycow Farms – Wells River, VT
Why Sillycow Farms?
▪ Jonathan Rutstein credits a midlife crisis for spurring him to switch gears from public planning to cocoa making. In 1988, he and his wife, Fran, bought a small Vermont company that produced Belgian chocolate sauces. After discovering a demand for locally made hot chocolate, they developed a cocoa recipe, packaged the cocoa in a nostalgic-looking milk bottle with a cow’s image, and dubbed the company Sillycow Farms. ▪ Sillycow Farms’ flagship flavor…Chocolate Chocolate…has just two ingredients…cocoa and natural cane sugar…all real, none artificial and certified Non GMO. ▪ Blended and filled in an allergen free facility…free of dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, shellfish, fish, and nuts. Our packaging tells it all. And to complete our green appeal, our bottles are up-cyclable, useable in many ways.
