Artist: Olga Bolgar I don’t remember when I started to be an artist. I liked to draw from a very young age I started like most children with color pencils, drawing princesses or animals and all that came to my mind. Step by step, I became interested in drawing nature. I didn’t know where to start. I decided to go to a local art studio. It was 1987. Since then I’ve been drawing and painting and haven’t stopped learning about art. I like the process of creation. It makes life meaningful. I like to think about the colors and shapes of future art piece. I like to try different art mediums such as oil, watercolors, pastel, ink, charcoal, pencil etc. I like the process of mixing colors, which is similar to cooking. I like when the air is perfumed with the scent of oil from my paintings. When I paint in the surrealistic style, I cogitate on a main idea which takes my fancy and intertwines with my emotions about subject. Then I do a lot of sketches. When I paint landscapes, I am drawn to wide open nature where I watch for shades, light and mid-tones. I am looking for contrasts and nuances of cold and warm colors. I am achieving lots of “air” in the painting to give the eye an illusion of three dimensions. When I working on a portrait, I am trying to reveal the personality of the portrayed person. I can work a piece intently a hundred times over before it is just right. Artist: Olga Bolgar, American Oil on Canvas Board Title: Figure II 40.64 x 30.48 x 0.25 cm Lot: 172 Starting bid: $450 USA

Artist: Vachagan Manukyan, Armenian Artist. Statement: I think the realism as a style in the painting has the broadest perspective and at the same time it is the most difficult way of expres- sion for the artist. I always try to express myself by solving artistic simple and complicated conceptual problems and my approach to them is always multi-layered. I enjoy the combination of different painting techniques. For instance I can use thin and fine brush strokes with impasto technique. My goal is not to copy the reality but to make it look deeper spiritually.Positive attitude to the life develops my palette and color philosophy. The result of my art is represented here. I’m a professional, full time artist, painter, illustrator and art teacher. I received my professional art education in Fine Arts Department of Armenian State Pedagogical University, Yerevan, Armenia. My works are in many collections in France, Italy, USA, Germany, China and many other countries. Materials & Techniques: Oil painting on Canvas

Artist: Yurii Novikov, Ukrainian Artist. I was born and studied in Ukraine. Drawing and painting were my favorite childhood activities. In my early years I liked to capture and recreate the three-dimensional structure of an object on paper. It was not easy, and I liked trying different solutions. I prefer to work with canvas and oil because it allows me the most versatility. I try to capture life as it is—light, dynamic, emotional, and exploring. Now I’m working and living in Kharkiv. Judy Steffens is a Central Illinois artist working from her studio at home. Judy is a figurative realist oil painter. Each of Judy’s paintings depicts a visual encounter that she has experienced and which sparked her imagination. Her work demonstrates an intimacy with the subject and thoughtful story-telling.Judy was interested in art at an early age. Judy recalls drawing horses at her school desk as a young second grader. She would find inspiration from the illustrations in the books of C.W. Anderson, Wesley Dennis, and others, which lined her bookshelves. She would spend hours studying and copying those drawings.Inspired by the revolutionary fashion trends of the 1960’s, Judy found new inspiration for her drawings. What started as designing outfits in the margins of her notebooks in school turned into a focus and in- terest in drawing people, which is a consistent theme throughout Judy’s decades of practice.Judy earned her Bachelors Degree in Fine Art from Bradley University. In 2010 and 2011 Judy and her husband lived in Florida. They were lucky enough to rent a studio condo on the beach. Daily proximity to the beach provided the the inspiration that led to her colorful and serene beach themed works.

Statement: I often go to the beach by the sea to see children playing, and this is one of them, on the beach, blue sky and white clouds, there are kids calls. A group of kids, desperately chasing and running towards the distance. Gold seems to be jumping and running, and it seems that it will never catch up. Until I was too tired to run, I dug a hole on the beach, and the stream slowly soaked in, first turbid, then clear, and a pool of sweet water formed when there was less neck. When the kids dug the sand pit, the sand left on their hands also shone like gold. Whenever I discover new scenes of children playing, it can inspire my painting inspiration. Artist: Ernest Compta Llinas Catalan artist and architect, I live and work in Barcelona. My works try to express social and emotional diversity through the face. Over the years I have moved between styles and formats, but I have always worked with the same theme: facial portrait. I work mainly with acrylics on canvas and paper, although some pieces are made with charcoal, oil, pastel and inks. My stylistic influences include abstraction and expressionism. The range of anonymous faces runs on the identity of the characters. I try to express through facial features, looks and gestures, the nuances, complexity and contrasts of the emotional state of the subjects as a reflection

of the mood and essential human aspects. Materials & Techniques: Acrylic on Paper

The semantic view of these works is presented in the form of hermeneutics and apart from the meaning that the artist has tried to present. It provides a context in which the audience can search for their own personal definition. Man is the only timekeeper in the universe. Only human beings measure time. Only human beings make time. Hence, it is only human beings who suffer from crippling fear that no other creature can endure. The fear of running out of time.
