Remi Elie signs with Dallas

Mademoiselle Nathalie Marier, de Hawkesbury, est décédée le mercredi 1 octobre 2014, à l’âge de 41 ans. Elle était la fille de feu Maurice Marier et de feu Thérèse Guindon. Elle laisse dans le deuil son frère, Gaëtan et sa sœur, Louise. Elle fut prédécédée par une sœur, Johanne et un frère, Sylvain. Lui survivent également plusieurs oncles, tantes, cousins, cousines, et amis. La direction des funérailles a été confiée au Salon Funéraire Familial Berthiaume, 416, rue McGill, Hawkesbury (Ontario), 877 632-8511. Les obsèques auront lieu en la paroisse Saint- Pierre-Apôtre de Hawkesbury, le vendredi 10 octobre 2014 à 14 h. DALLAS | Former Glens and current Bel- leville Bulls forward Remi Elie recently signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars.While financial terms weren’t disclosed, this is very good news for the 19-year-old left wing who can now play another junior year with more assur- ance and determination. Elie led the Belleville Bulls of the Ontario Hockey League in scoring last season with 65 points, on 28 goals and 37 assists in 61 games. He had two goals and one assist for the London Knights before he was acqui- red by the Bulls. Elie was a second-round pick (No. 40) in the 2013 NHL Draft. Before playing with the Bulls, he had a one-season stay with the Hawkesbury Hawks in 2011- 2012, scoring 21 goals and racking up 25 assists in 59 games. Elie was traded for defenseman Brady Austin by the London Knights in October 2013. The Knights had a stacked team at the time and Elie wasn’t getting much ice time. Fast forward one year, the Green Val- ley native has grown up a lot as a hockey player and has a more challenging and blossoming career in Belleville. In five games this season, he already has four goals to his chart and a total of seven points. Elie reported to Belleville after being cut from the Dallas Stars’ training camp last September. “Remi can be - and could be - among the elite power forwards in the league this season. The challenge right now is finding people who can share the puck with him and compliment him”, said Belle- ville head coach George Burnett.
