plants and fallen trees, cleared the trail, laid truckloads of fresh gravel, fixed drainage and spread mulch to support the well-being of native plants along the trail. Team members also built a new footbridge, planted a pollinator garden, crafted planter boxes and repainted benches along the trail. Reflecting an annual tradition at Trex, many of our team members celebrated Earth Day 2025 by volunteering in community cleanup and beautification projects throughout our operating locations. This included planting wildflowers in a native meadow at our Winchester corporate office.

Community Investment

Trex works extensively with United Way of Northern Shenandoah Valley (NSV) in Virginia, the local chapter of one of the world’s largest privately funded charities. Through our annual United Way giving campaign, we help the charitable organization fund projects that advance education, healthcare, employment, financial security and other hallmarks of a thriving community. Trex matches team members’ contributions dollar-for-dollar. Our 2025 United Way campaign raised more than $293,000, which was 4% higher than the $281,000 contributed in 2024. For the 15 th consecutive year, United Way of NSV recognized Trex as the chapter’s “Most Generous Company” in 2025. In addition, our Director of Corporate Affairs serves as chair of United Way NSV.

UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING In 2025, more than 60 Trex team members in Winchester participated in the United Way chapter’s Day of Caring. Volunteers assisted the nonprofit Blue Ridge Wildlife Center by cleaning out enclosures used to rehabilitate injured wildlife for eventual release, removing soiled gravel, repairing holes in the enclosure wiring and laying fresh gravel inside. Team members also worked to remove invasive plants, spread new mulch around the educational wildlife pathways and level the walking surfaces.
