LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE SUMMARY OF SERVICES

The Landscape Maintenance Division provides landscape maintenance services to the City's Civic Center, community and neighborhood parks, City’s open space, Great Park, athletic fields, streetscapes, trees, and eucalyptus windrows. Specific services include contract management of all parks and street landscape maintenance, all sports fields and infield maintenance, tree trimming, weed abatement, and water use management. To achieve optimum efficiency and service quality, private contractors and professionally recognized industry- wide performance standards are integrated into the division’s operations.

Accomplishments 

Awarded Tree City USA designation for the 32 nd consecutive year.

 Installed 2.3 million square feet of new sod within citywide athletic fields and Great Park.

 Implemented sonic tomography technology to assess the health of blue gum eucalyptus trees citywide.  Upgraded approximately 600 irrigation controllers to provide faster response for monitoring and adjusting irrigation usage.
