TRANSPORTATION PLANNING & PROJECT DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY OF SERVICES

The Transportation Planning & Project Development Division defines, develops, and coordinates the implementation of transportation infrastructure/circulation improvements in concert with local and regional land use planning and development, the City’s General Plan, and relat ed policies and mandates. The Division coordinates grant funding efforts aggressively seeking funding opportunities and securing external funding to supplement the City’s other revenue sources. Accomplishments  Secured nearly $5 million in outside grant funding sources for transportation projects.  Completed Preliminary Engineering for two important roadway improvement projects: Jeffrey Road at Irvine Center Drive and Jamboree Road at Main Street.  Completed Master Planning for Complete Streets improvements including a bicycle/pedestrian bridge prioritization study, a Local Roadway Safety Plan, and the Transit Vision, which will improve travel and create new transit routes in the City of Irvine.
