TRANSPORTATION REVIEW & ANALYSIS SUMMARY OF SERVICES
The Transportation Review & Analysis Division reviews discretionary development applications ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory and advisory documents and delivery within the established processing timelines. The Division updates transportation documents and revises policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure efficient and effective review of projects and application of standards relating to transportation improvements. It also reviews environmental reports and projects submitted to the City from outside agencies. The Division develops and maintains an advanced transportation modeling system to forecast transportation network needs and to ensure appropriate transportation improvements are identified and implemented to meet the growing needs of the community. Reviewed new development in unbuilt areas of the City, including north Irvine within Planning Areas 1, 6 and 40 as well as Great Park and the Great Park neighborhoods. Reviewed infill projects throughout the City, particularly in the IBC area and southeasterly Planning Area 35 areas. Coordinated with staff to review and resolve vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle transportation issues identified during review of residential, office/medical office, hotel, and mixed-use developments throughout the City. Maintained and updated the City’s Vehicle Miles Traveled Impact Analysis Guidelines, to ensure consistency with the State CEQA (SB 743) Guidelines. Maintained and updated the City’s Traffic Study Guidelines to ensure adherence to the City’s General Plan standards, adopted performance criteria, and thresholds of significance. Maintained the City’s traffic forecasting model (IT AM TC) to ensure consistency with regional County models and provided ease of application by consultants. Accomplishments
