ADMINISTRATION, GREAT PARK PROJECT MANAGEMENT, & PARK PLANNING SUMMARY OF SERVICES
The Administration Division coordinates department- wide activities necessary to manage the City’s vast Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and sustainability initiatives. Activities include coordination, long- range planning, and directio n to the department’s six divisions for project and program prioritization and implementation. Additional responsibilities include Sustainability Commission administration; communications with City Council, City commissions, and residents; five-year CIP forecast; budget and financial planning and development; special projects; workload analysis; human resources matters; information technology support; administrative support; and participation in regional, local, and interdepartmental activities.
The Great Park Project Management Division coordinates implementation of projects from the Great Park Framework Plan.
The Park Planning Division oversees and manages the City’s adopted Parks Master Plan and the development, renovation, and refurbishment of all public parks.
Accomplishments Developed and implemented the newly created Project Delivery and Sustainability Department in Spring 2023. Launched the Great Park Framework Plan with a groundbreaking ceremony to commence construction on the next phase of development on May 23, 2023. Kicked off planning for the gymnasium at Colonel Bill Barber Memorial Park and construction for improvements at Deanna Manning Stadium.
