Fund 145: STRUCTURAL FIRE FUND The Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) established its Structural Fire Entitlement Fund on July 22, 1999, to compensate certain cities for being net financial contributors to overall OCFA operations. As of September 30, 2022, Irvine, as a “donor” city has had approximatel y $5.2 million in available funding. Of that amount, approximately $4.2 million has been spent on the Community Emergency Response Team, firebreaks, Traffic Signal Preempt System, and other fire safety related projects. Future interest will be allocated based on funds remaining. The City and OCFA must agree upon and approve all qualifying projects in advance. For FY 2023-24 and 2024-25, the City plans to appropriate approximately $2.8 million in FY 2023-24 and $0.2 million in FY 2024-25 for two part-time public safety assistants, one new full-time Public Safety Supervisor I position, Community Emergency Response Team supplies, and equipment.
