Strategic Synergy
In Southwestern Manitoba, a new barn operation required a negative air pressure cover system for a lagoon secondary cell. This was needed to slow down the release of gases in the atmosphere that create unpleasant odors for surrounding residents. Working with the client and design engineer Titan recommended using 40mil LLDPE SST geomembrane for the primary cover due to its excellent elongation and durability qualities. This material also allows for safe access to drain any water build up on the cover. Negative air pressure blowers, featuring polypropylene for durability, were also incorporated into the design to maintain a tight seal and prevent cover displacement in windy conditions. A network of 6" floats supported the cover, facilitating efficient gas collection, while concrete ramps allowed access for manure pump-out and agitation. This innovative design addressed both environmental and operational concerns for the new barn operation.

Concrete Canvas® Chronicles
This fall we supplied and installed 16,145ft² (1,500 m²) of Concrete Canvas® (CC) to line a ditch at a compound site that was susceptible to erosion and structural degradation. This innovative solution combines the durability of concrete with the flexibility of fabric, providing an effective erosion control and slope protection system, ensuring long- term stability and minimizing maintenance requirements. We were caught off guard by a rain spell, but the puddles didn’t stop us from successfully completing the job!
