Polytechnique Montreal, Montreal QC (ALLRP 3 years)
The Alliance Grants (ALLRP) 3 years research grant for the project entitled "Mitigating gas emissions from permafrost via the concrete-filled geosynthetic technology "’ awarded last year is progressing well. This research is utilizing the newly developed high impermeability CCX™ Geosynthetic Cementitious Composite Mat and Barrier (GCCM/Bs). This study is focusing on the Radon and Methane gas diffusion study. This novel research study uses the Concrete Canvas technology and would be extremely useful for mining and Landfillapplications to mitigate gas emissions.
Queen’s University , Kingston, ON
McGill University, Montreal, QC Geo Group
McGill University (NSERC – MITACS Alliance Grants (ALLRP), 3 years)

The project entitled " Long-term performance of bituminous geomembranes (BGM) for waste containment and mining applications ", is progressing very well. The objective of this proposal is (1) provide fundamental insights on the mechanism by which BGMs age when exposed to different solutions to estimate their service life in the field; (2) explore the diffusive transport of different contaminants through intact BGMs; and (3) provide the first insights into the effect of aging of BGMs on the interface shear strength of different liner configurations.
Titan is pleased to announce yet another new NSERC/ Alliance/ Mitacs ( 3 years duration ) award this year titled "Beyond Traditional Drainage: Investigating the Potential Use of Nonwoven Wicking Geotextiles to Enhance the Stability and Resilience of Transportation Embankments", with GeoGroup of McGill University.
