IMPROVED FLEET EFFICIENCY Through investments in aerodynamic equipment, automatic tire inflation systems, auxiliary power units, and other fuel-saving technologies, Averitt continues to improve the efficiency of its fleet. These enhancements help reduce fuel consumption, lower emissions, and maximize performance across our network.

TIRE REPURPOSING Averitt’s green tire program is a model for the industry. 100% of used tires are repurposed or recycled. This dramatically reduces landfill waste while decreasing our demand for new tire production.
RESPONSIBLE TIRE SOURCING Additionally, in 2024 Averitt entered into a new partnership on social, human rights, and environmental standards with its leading supplier of tires. This partnership ensures that more than half of all tires that Averitt procures annually adhere to a Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy in accordance with the Global Platform For Sustainable Natural Rubber (https://sustainablenaturalrubber.org). That agreement was renewed in 2026 with the same social and environmental performance expectations.
AUTOMATIC TRAILER TIRE INFLATION SYSTEMS
We’ve equipped our fleet with automatic tire inflation systems that continuously monitor and maintain the pressure of the tires while the vehicles are operational. This ensures that all tires are inflated to the optimal level for maximum fuel efficiency and tire life span.
TRANSTEX SKIRTS
All of our truckload trailers are equipped with aerodynamic Transtex skirts, which reduce air drag. This number continues to grow as we adopt and test new innovations. This upgrade effectively cuts both emissions and fuel consumption. 79,697 METRIC TONS and saved 7.8 million gallons of diesel since implementation Reduced CO 2 e emissions by over
OIL RECYCLING 100% of used oil is collected, processed, and reused. This closed-loop system not only prevents environmental contamination but also reduces reliance on newly refined oil. By turning a potential waste stream into a renewable resource, we’re setting a standard for circular practices in the transportation industry.
100 % OF OIL was recycled, equaling 81,348 GALLONS
AUXILIARY POWER UNITS (APUs) Our trucks feature APUs to reduce idle times during rest periods or loading and unloading operations. These units provide heating, cooling, and power to the truck cab and systems without running the truck’s main engine.

BATTERY RECYCLING Recycling battery cores helps reduce landfill waste, recover valuable materials, and support a more sustainable supply chain.
HYBRID FLEET We’re steadily expanding our hybrid fleet to reduce fuel use and emissions.
