Waldegrave School End of Summer Magazine 2023

We have had a busy time at Waldegrave celebrating Book Week this year. From Year 7s parading in their costumes inspired by their favourite books and our house captains hosting a book sale, to welcoming into school local YA author Sue Wallman and Hip Hop lyricist and author BREIS!

Year 7 were invited to dress up as their favourite fictional characters in exchange for a voluntary donation. The money raised will be used to further resource the school library - thank you to those who contributed, we appreciate your support. It was great to see so many creative outfits on the day. We had some magnificent individual costumes as well as group costumes. There were special appearances from the Scooby-Doo gang, Thing 1 and Thing 2 as well as the Cheshire Cat and even Katniss Everdeen.

Special guest author Sue Wallman was given the job of selecting our prize winners. In joint first was Charlie and Aiko, both dressed as the Mad Hatter. Second place went to Mila who was Katniss. Lastly, in third place, we had a group winner, which went to 6 students dressed as Crayons from The Day The Crayons Quit.
