It was a privilege to be able to welcome best selling local YA author Sue Wallman into school to talk to our Year 7 and 8 students about her writing and inspiration for her stories. One Year 7 and 8 class were lucky enough to also attend a workshop Sue ran where they received some great creative writing tips and advice from her toolkit! Sue commented: “I loved my visit to Waldegrave. It was fantastic to see how many Year 7s and Year 8s thought of themselves as readers and/or writers. I particularly enjoyed doing a character exercise with two classes who came up with some great thoughts about how we could create a story. Thank you to Mrs Croucher who organised book sales and made the day go very smoothly.”
