Waldegrave School End of Summer Magazine 2023

Nine STEM students in Years 11 and 12 had the chance to take part in the NPL Academy, a work experience programme run jointly at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington and at the school. To kick start their week of work experience, students were welcomed to NPL with an introduction to the company and the type of work they do, followed by a tour of their laboratories. Students learnt about Intellectual Property, how to create prototypes, what a good business plan looks like and how to pitch a business idea. They were given the task of pitching the idea for a new business to a set of judges, then make a presentation about their week's work to show their peers on Friday. Students also participated in a number of STEM activities and challenges with the rest of the cohort.
