CHAIR IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND HEALTH AND EXERCISE, MEDICINE AND HEALTH RESEARCH GROUP LEAD Novel ways to measure and promote physical activity across the age span and health continuum.

Wales. WIPAHS brings together academics, those facilitating physical activity, policymakers, and the public, to address fundamental questions surrounding the nations' health and well-being, whilst simultaneously providing development and leadership opportunities for early career researchers. Professor Mackintosh said : "I truly value opportunities to develop early career researchers, as it allows me to contribute to, and shape, their career trajectory as well as the promotion of physical activity and health, in the UK, Europe and further afield.” Kelly was on the Chief Medical Officer's (CMO's) expert working group to update the Children and Young People's United Kingdom Physical Activity Guidelines, as well as the CMO's expert committee for surveillance, and currently sits on the World Health Organization's (WHO) Health Enhancing Physical Activity Strategic Management Board.

Professor Mackintosh's interdisciplinary and international collaborations has led to a high volume of peer-reviewed research, competitive grant income and international awards. Most recently, Professor Mackintosh was ranked in the top 1% of published authors in her research area over the last ten years. To date, as the Exercise, Medicine and Health Research Group Lead, Professor Mackintosh has published over 100 internationally peer-reviewed scientific papers focusing on the use of novel approaches to both measure and promote physical activity and decrease sedentary behaviour, across the lifespan and disease status, on a population level. Kelly is passionate about ensuring excellent leadership to early career researchers, providing solid foundations to developing future research leaders and those who can make a real difference to the health of our nation. Together with Professor Melitta McNarry, Professor Mackintosh has driven the Welsh Institute of Physical Activity Health and Sport (WIPAHS), a partnership with Sport Wales and all Higher Education Institutes across
