American Studies is the multidisciplinary investigation of the United States, encompassing history, literature, politics and film. This MA by Research, MPhil or PhD allows you to study wide-ranging themes such as immigration, democracy, slavery, imperialism, multiculturalism, race and ethnicity, urban history, the economy, and terrorism. These issues do not just concern the past – they are directly relevant to the world we live in.
