Keep on rolling! Printing on Gelli (correct art spelling!)

ART EXPERT The children in Year One have been busy working with an art expert at school. They created some wonderful prints that will be displayed at our exhibition after school on Thursday 22nd March (more details to follow). They also made a second print, which was used as a background for their Mother’s Day card. All of the children, who worked with the art expert, returned to class beaming - having enjoyed a valuable new learning experience.A huge thank you to Mrs. K. for her time and effort on the project. Thanks to Mrs Donnelly for the story. PASS THE DUTCHIE The children across our school have been treated to a visit from musician Dennis Seaton, who found fame in 1982 as a member of Musical Youth, when their song 'Pass the Dutchie' topped the UK Singles Charts. Dennis gave an inspirational talk about his musical interest as a young child and how he had to juggle school work with band practice, rehearsals and tours. Musical Youth were the first black artists to be played on MTV and, in 1984, the band was nominated as the Best Newcomer at the Grammy Awards. They met lots of other musicians including Michael Jackson. We were even treated to a song and the children joined in too! Thank you Dennis for taking the time to come into our school and supporting your House Team ‘Seaton’. Thanks to Mrs. Flanagan for the story.
