Back in the forest Out in the open

DENS Year 6 developed their life-skills and survival skills in a ‘forest school’ themed day. Rotating through a combination of fire making with natural resources, den building and making art from natural materials. The dens were tested for their waterproof properties by application of a good watering can full of liquid. The fire making was fun and there was a bit of free time to explore and play in the long grass. Thanks to Zarai, Izzy, Scout, Cerys, Hannah, Fergus and Harley for the story. MUSIC Musicians across Abbey came together for our annual Musical Soiree Night, performing to a packed hall of proud parents and carers. Demonstrating their growing skills, a warm evening of talented children enjoyed the opportunity to show how far they have come. Thanks to our `Friends of Abbey’ who helped serve refreshments during the interval and the SIPS music teachers for attending to support our children. ECO BUS The ‘Eco Bus’ visited Abbey for the whole week and provided opportunities for children across the school to access and learn about different environmental issues. Saving bees, crazy cress heads, woodland clay, renewable energy and bug abodes all formed part of the exciting week.
