ANIMAL MAGIC

During this term the year 1 children have been working hard finding out about a range of different animals. We have learned about the structure of animals, what group of animals they belong to – mammals, fish, birds, reptiles or amphibians. We have learned what they eat; are they carnivores, herbivores or omnivores? We had a fantastic visit to Dudley Zoo and were able to handle a few animals and see them close up. Our grand finale to this topic has been our Be Brave Day. Thank you to all of the parents (and grandparents & wider family members) who joined to make this a very special craft activity. The children designed an animal habitat and were joined by the adults to create their habitats in a shoebox! It was very impressive to see the range of animals that the children are interested in. Thanks to Mrs. Lawrence for the story. TWITTER Trainee PCSOs were invited to the Sandwell Mayor’s ‘Big House’. The tour included a visit from the Mayor, an opportunity to ask questions and the chance to wear the robes of office. Sandwell is also filming a good luck song for the England football team and we even made it to Twitter https:// mobile.twitter.com/sandwellcouncil/status/
