Artist Statement My work is greatly impacted by my 16 years as a dancer/educator; I have always said that creating dance is like painting in three dimensions. Now that I am working on canvas, I still look for the flow and movement of color. I am most comfortable with the abstract form, letting the color flow through the space creating dimension and depth. My intention is to create a mood or emotional response to the image, drawing the viewer in and allowing them to find something new each time they look at the painting. attending art shows and enjoying the opportunity to create. Her parents felt it was important to have exposure to the art world at an early age, attending museums and even a world craft conference in Ireland. As a shy, young child, Casonti was signed up for improvisational dance classes, but Casonti just sat on the side. The instructor told her mother that Casonti appeared to be more interested in visual art than dance movement. Over time, she eventually developed a passion and voice through dance.
