Senior Companions Helping, Learning, Sharing

As a Senior Companion volunteer, you could have the opportunity to help homebound older adults feel more independent and less lonely. Picture yourself calling someone to brighten their day, or perhaps taking someone out to eat, to the bank, or helping them sort their mail. These tasks mean the world to older adults who are unable to complete these tasks on their own, or may be feeling overwhelmed or unmotivated. Think of how much better someone’s life could be if they had a companion like you to encourage them and give them the moral support they need to do more of the things that bring them joy.

Senior Companions also help each other learn about community resources, using a computer tablet, and by bringing out the best in each other. Becoming a Senior Companion volunteer means using your skills, life experience, and knowledge to make a difference in someone’s life. It means being part of a caring team, growing and adapting together through this pandemic, and leaning on each other to help our most vulnerable elders. As you read this, there’s an older adult waiting and wishing for a friend just like you!

If you would like to serve your community and be a lifeline to homebound older adults, please call 520-305-3453 to learn more about becoming a Senior Companion Volunteer! For more information, call (520)305-3453
