Key to JFN’s success was intense unity of effort between the developer, acquirer, and operator, and unparalleled cross-Service and cross-CCMD collaboration. The extreme teaming of its leadership trio—the R&E/DARPA Technical Manager, USINDOPACOM Operational Manager, and A&S Transition Manager—was described as the “magic” by ASW(MC). Together, they bridged the Valley of Death—fueled by their common purpose to Blind, See, Kill, and win in high-end conflicts. Congressional staffers and DoW recognized JFN as a cultural shift and demonstration of how a unified, determined team can achieve unprecedented speed. These success factors are being promulgated in a JFN Playbook. The JFN gold standard model and Software Cadre are already being applied to execute the “bureaucracy kill chain” and accelerate more CCMD-needs and joint kill chain capabilities through the Valley of Death.
