Healthy Recipe
Hot Apple Cider INGREDIENTS • 1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle apple cider • 3 cinnamon sticks
• 1 teaspoon whole allspice • 1 teaspoon whole cloves • 1/3 cup brown sugar
DIRECTIONS In a slow cooker, combine apple cider and cinnamon sticks. Wrap allspice and cloves in a small piece of cheesecloth, and add to pot. Stir in brown sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat, and keep warm.

MIND AND MOBILITY staff welcomed well over 100 guests at its Grand Opening Open House event November 8th, at 5912 Okeechobee Blvd. “The turnout was fantastic,” said MIND AND MOBILITY President Mateo Martinez. “Our guests were able to tour our new state-of- the- art facility, receive demonstrations and tours, as well as have all of their questions answered. We introduced ourselves to West Palm Beach in fine fashion.” The Open House scheduled hours were from 11 am to 7 pm, so those not able to make it to the 4 pm program were still able to receive vital information about how to stay independent in their homes longer, utilizing MIND AND MOBILITY’s robust health platform, featuring the cognitive-based “Brain Gym” and a number of other significant features. A large crowd gathered around 4 pm for MIND AND MOBILITY’s compelling program, which featured West Palm
Beach Mayor Jeri Muoio, Mr. Martinez, as well as Century Village’s Carmen Watson, who performs regularly for “The Village Songbirds.” Mayor Muoio read a proclamation honoring veteran’s (Veteran’s Day was Nov. 11) and seniors (November is National Home Health and Hospice Month) and shared her very positive home care experience with her mother. The Mayor said her mother began in an Assisted Living facility but after a few months, was moved back into her mother’s home, where she was able to live more independently and more contentedly. Mr. Martinez emceed the event and discussed MIND AND MOBILITY’s mission and vision throughout South Florida to empower seniors to age in place in their own homes. Carmen Watson of the Village Songbirds began the 25 minute program with the singing of our National Anthem and ended it with her rendition of “God Bless America.” Attending veterans were honored with a copy of the signed proclamation from Mayor Muoio on behalf of the city of West Palm Beach.
