WHERE TO PLAY

The unique range facility at Ebotse Links where golfers hit floating balls into the main dam of the golf estate.

Whether warming up or grinding on your game, you’ll enjoy these top ranges, as adjudged by the SA Top 100 Courses website. New in the Top 10 is Mount Edgecombe. THE BEST PRACTICE FACILITIES

1 PEARL VALLEY Close to clubhouse and first tee, long and spacious with ample grass bays. Attractively presented and serviced, with top quality balls, separate chipping and putting greens in front of clubhouse. Range is framed by tall trees, and there are member bays at opposite end of range. 2 BLAIR ATHOLL Grass bays are in tiers for privacy. Space to hit driver, and a selection of target greens. Excellent short-game area, with deep and shallow bunkers to prepare for those on course. Spacious putting green. Everything flows accessibly from car park to first tee. 3 THE LINKS AT FANCOURT Attractive raised hitting area with

grass bays. Quirky short-game area with raised greens. Large putting green alongside clubhouse. 4 FANCOURT Guests and members have a choice of two ranges, one close to clubhouse and Outeniqua first tee; the other at the Fancourt Academy which is 10 minutes away. The clubhouse range has a superb short-game area, but no grass bays, only mats. Montagu course has own putting green at first tee. 5 STEYN CITY Mats only at range. Short ride from clubhouse. Extremely long range, with teaching pro Greg Bentley’s Element Academy at far end where members can practice off grass. Good short- game practice area

6 LEOPARD CREEK A warm-up area of grass bays

and separate from National Junior Development Centre with its array of ranges and short-game areas in a fenced-off property. That is used for tournaments. Excellent proximity to clubhouse and first tee, particularly the large putting green. 7 HERMANUS Range is close to clubhouse and three starting tees at 27-hole facility. A mix of grass bays and mats. Main putting green is a feature in front of clubhouse.
