#94 GULLANE NO. 1 The centrepiece of Gullane No 1, the club’s “championship” course next door to Muirfield, is Gullane Hill, a rise that imbues the layout with elevation changes not typical on a Scottish links. The difficult second, fifth and sixth holes scale the hill- sides, but the payoff is soaring views of the Firth of Forth from high tees at the third and seventh holes. The second nine is flatter but firm and fast and 400 yards longer with several greens along the firth headlands.
