Dr. Richard Vinglas earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the same institution. He completed the Joseph H. Boyes Hand Surgery Fellowship and his microsurgical training at USC University Medical Center in Los Angeles, California before moving to Bozeman, Montana in 2006 to join Bridger Orthopedic as a hand and upper extremity specialist. He is a member of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Advanced Qualification in Hand Surgery. Annually Dr. Vinglas has also become Montana’s leading provider of total shoulder replacement surgery and utilizes bone sparing techniques with short or no stem prosthesis for younger patients. In addition, he completes a total of over 700 surgical cases each year including Shoulder Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel, Trigger Finger Release, Ulnar Nerve Release and CMC Arthroplasty. Dr. Vinglas and his team treat patients with conditions from clavicle to fingertips
utilizing both non-surgical and surgical options, allowing patients to be a part of a shared decision-making process. By evaluating range of motion, strength and pain tolerance, patients are active participants in treatment options and choices. Continuity of care is provided through Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy as he strives to get his patients back to living life. Dr. Vinglas sits on the Orthopedic Executive Committee at Bozeman Health and is the Medical Director at Rocky Mountain Surgical Center. He also holds memberships in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, Montana Hand Society and Montana Orthopedic Society. Dr. Vinglas is also an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He’s an active community member and serves on the School Board for the Mount Ellis Elementary School.
