T. Scott Curry, M.D . Dr. T. Scott Curry is an Adult Joint Reconstruction Specialist treating both hip and knee patients. As a versatile and experienced surgeon, Dr. Curry performs both primary anterior and posterior hips, complex primary hips, as well as complex hip revision for patients struggling with unsuccessful primary hip replacement issues. He also performs primary knee and complex primary knee replacement, and revision knee replacement. Understanding the benefits technology can provide in the surgical setting, Dr. Curry utilizes robotics as well as traditional surgical techniques to offer his patients the highest level of care leading to optimum outcomes. He is focused on understanding lifestyle, uncovering the cause of pain and loss of function, and finds solutions to help people live their most rewarding life. He is a conservative physician, choosing surgical intervention only when necessary. He is keenly aware that medicine done well is team oriented and believes in comprehensive, collaborative care involving all his patients’ key providers.
County College in Sherman, Texas and later Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi while playing baseball and graduated with honors with his Bachelor of Science: Biology degree and a Minor in Chemistry. Dr. Curry and his brother graduated from college together as the first two in their very large, extended family to do so. During his time at Belhaven, a non-denominational Christian college, he was gifted with wonderful friendships from teammates and mentorships from directors and professors grounded in their faith and committed to teaching their students how to be good humans and how to positively contribute to humanity. Dr. Curry attended the School of Medicine at The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) to receive his Doctor of Medicine. While at UMMC he was exposed to an extensive volume of pathologies and a Level 1 trauma center. With his history in athletics, and his love of working with his hands, he was naturally attracted to orthopedics. Following medical school, he continued working at UMMC to complete his Orthopedic Surgery Residency. For his Joint Arthroplasty Fellowship, Dr. Curry joined a top-tier, nationally recognized program focusing exclusively on the knee, hip, and shoulder at the
Vanderbilt University/Southern Joint Replacement Institute (SJRI). SJRI includes a unique research arm that utilizes evidence-based learning to enhance surgical outcomes and provide patients with positive experiences. Dr. Curry practiced in Louisiana for several years before returning to the Southern Joint Replacement Institute in Tennessee to fill a position that included an appointment as the Quality Improvement Director of Joint Replacement. He also began serving as a Design Consultant with Signature Orthopedics at SJRI to promote better patient outcomes and he plays an active role in the Walk Strong Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides hip and knee replacements at no cost to underprivileged patients. Dr. Curry is American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery Board Certified, a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is a licensed physician in Mississippi, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Montana. He continues to dedicate his time to the Walk Strong Foundation and regularly volunteers in community service with his church. He and his wife have 4 children and enjoy spending time with their family being active including hunting, fishing, hiking, and kayaking.
Dr. Curry was raised outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and participated in sports from a young age including baseball from T-ball to competing as a college athlete. He attended Grayson
