SOLUTIONS AND PARTNER OBO BETTERMANN COMBINE GLOBAL ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT EXPERTISE WITH LOCAL TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, PROJECT SUPPORT AND NATIONWIDE DELIVERY… Powering Ireland’s renewable future

Ireland’s renewable energy landscape is changing rapidly. Solar PV installations are expanding across rooftops and utility-scale developments, wind continues to play a critical role in electricity generation and battery energy storage is becoming increasingly important as the electricity system adapts to greater levels of renewable power. But renewable energy is about much more than solar panels, wind turbines and batteries. Behind every successful renewable project is an extensive electrical infrastructure designed to safely support, protect and connect the system. As projects become larger and more technically demanding, the specification of this infrastructure becomes increasingly important to long-term performance, safety and reliability. Through its partnership with OBO Bettermann, Solutions combines global engineering and product expertise with local technical knowledge, project support and nationwide delivery capability to support Ireland’s growing renewable energy sector. For Solar PV, that means looking beyond the panels themselves. Solutions can provide OBO technologies including PV DC and AC surge protection, earthing and lightning protection, PV mounting and roof support systems, generator connection boxes and cable tray, basket and outdoor cable management. Together, these systems provide the supporting infrastructure required for safe and reliable PV installations, from commercial rooftops to utility-scale solar farms. For wind energy, infrastructure must perform reliably in particularly demanding environments. Wind turbine earthing and lightning protection, surge protection and robust cable management all play

important roles in protecting equipment and supporting long-term system performance. The requirements extend beyond generation itself. As renewable projects become increasingly connected with wider energy and grid infrastructure, Solutions can also support applications requiring earthing and surge protection, fire-rated cable support systems, cable management and EMC solutions. Getting these elements right from the beginning of a project is important. Considering cable routing, earthing, lightning and surge protection, fire performance and EMC requirements during the specification and design stages can help create a more coordinated installation and reduce potential challenges later in the project. It also allows individual systems to be considered as part of the wider electrical infrastructure rather than in isolation. Crucially, the Solutions offering extends

beyond product supply. The team works with consultants, EPC contractors, electrical contractors and renewable energy developers, providing technical and engineering support from early specification and product selection through to project delivery. This integrated approach allows customers to consider the complete infrastructure requirements of a renewable project while working with an experienced technical partner throughout the process. As Ireland continues to invest in solar, wind, energy storage and the electricity infrastructure required to support them, attention must extend beyond how renewable electricity is generated to how those systems are protected, connected and supported. Together, Solutions and OBO Bettermann are supporting the infrastructure behind Ireland’s renewable energy transition. Smart. Sustainable. Connected.
