McHappy Day in Hawkesbury!
OPP auxiliary constables, Zachery Gonzales, and Marc André Daoust were helping out at the drive through during McHappy Day in Hawkesbury on May 6. Store manager Lynne Monette was hoping to increase funds raised from last year’s amount of $3,000 by $1,000. “So far, it’s going very well,” said Monette. Money raised goes toward a children’s rehab at the Hawkesbury General Hospital. Michel Laferriere andTherese Takeda from the hospital foundation were collecting funds and washing windows at the drive through. “It’s a beautiful day for it,” said Laferriere. “People are so generous.”
Lots to learn at Legault Greenhouse
Claire Bélisle shared with an eager crowd the discoveries of long-term beauty with perennials, at the Legault open house May 2. “It’s going very well,” said Diane Legault, co-owner of the greenhouse. “People know we have a lot going on, and we have a barbecue for them. It’s perfect.” Several speakers discussed everything fromgreener grass to creating a Smart Pot garden, throughout the day. More information can be found at www. lesserreslegault.ca.
