FTA has announcedVirtual Innovation Central, an on- line theater for package printers and converters to dis- cover the latest industry technologies and solutions.A transformation of the INFOFLEX show floor staple,Vir- tual Innovation Central will enable printers and con- verters to connect with solutions providers directly from their offices.The May 28 event is complimentary to all members of the flexographic industry. Steinhauser Invests In Flexo Wash Plate Washer Steinhauser, Cincinnati,Ohio, installed a PlateWasher from FlexoWash and within eight months had report- edly completed the return on their investment. Steinhauser has two NarrowWeb Flexo Presses.The company was already a Flexo Wash customer with a Flexo Wash Anilox Cleaner, but their cleaning needs were not all completely solved. They were manually washing their flexo plates. Since installing the PlateWasher,the company cleans 40 to 50 plates a day,depending on the workload.Steinhaus- er does NOT have a dedicated person for this job; they use a Press Helper from each press to clean the plates. The people who previously did the manual cleaning were the Pressman and the Helper.Now the Helpers run them through the PlateWasher at their convenience. Steinhauser reports that it “easily” saves four to five man-hours a day, and the company has basically elimi- nated all washing-related plate damage.
