Brook & Whittle Acquires Shrink Label Facility
Brook and Whittle Holdings has expanded its shrink sleeve capabilities with the recent acquisition of a la- bel converting facility in Croydon,Pennsylvania,which manufactures shrink sleeves for consumer and health- care markets supplying many of the leading customers and brands in North America. Brook &Whittle is majority owned by private equity firm Snow Phipps Group. This acquisition is the sec- ond add-on transaction that the company completed since Snow Phipps’ initial investment in October 2017. In November 2018, Brook & Whittle acquired Prime Package & Label. AICC Offers Free Online Courses For Students During this time of uncertainty, when universities have had to close their campuses,AICC,The Indepen- dent Packaging Association, and The Packaging School are protecting the future of the packaging industry by enabling students to continue their corrugated pack- aging education with free online courses. Two courses, Corrugated Containers and Corru- gated Basics , are currently available with additional courses being added each month.Available during the Summer and Fall semesters, the courses can be used as a resource for a Professor’s course, or taken inde- pendently by a student at home. The courses, already free to AICC members, will bridge the gap between on-campus and at-home pack- aging education. Once a school signs up, students or faculty members of higher education studying wood, paper, or packag- ing can visit packagingschool.com/edu to register for the courses. AWT Labels & Packaging Wins Multiple Awards AWT Labels & Packaging,Minneapolis,Minnesota, re- ceived a Best of Category and an Award of Recogni- tion in the Printing Industry Midwest (PIMW) annual Star Awards competition. The Best of Category was awarded to AWT for the company’s flexographically printed Veil Cranberry Lime Vodka shrink-sleeve label. AWT received the Award of Recognition for a flex- ographically printed pressure-sensitive label for Olly brand nutritional supplements. In addition, AWT received Certificates of Merit for two other labels submitted for the competition.
