EXPLORE The 14 – 16 alternative provision at Nescot provides education and support for students in Year 10 or 11 who are unable to thrive in a mainstream school setting or have not been home schooled for a period of time. Focusing on the student needs, the 14 – 16 Alternative Provision at Nescot provides an inclusive learning environment where students can re-engage with education and develop essential academic, social, and vocational skills.

The 14 – 16 Alternative Provision at Nescot offers two different pathways – progression and transition pathway. Placement of student will be decided once the referral process has been completed. Transition Pathway Entry Level to Level 2 This pathway would suit a student who has been unable to access education for a period of time, home- schooled or experienced a high level of anxiety in a mainstream setting. ProgressionPathway Entry Level to Level 2 This pathway would suit a student who may be accessing a mainstream setting but it is not meeting the student’s needs. Interventions may have already been offered such as reduced timetable, small group interventions and more student support in the classroom which have not been successful. This pathway can also be offered to students who have been home-schooled or experience anxiety.

A full or part time placement can be offered.

Applicants must be referred to Nescot via their school or by their Local Authority. Students must have an EHCP.
